A full breakdown of registration costs will be provided before registrations open.

We strongly encourage all players to register before the advertised closing date.
-
Absolutely!
We welcome players of all abilities and experience levels, including children who are completely new to netball.
Our coaches work with players to help them develop their skills, confidence and understanding of the game.
AGE GROUPS & GRADING
-
Visit our Age Groups page for the current playing categories. Age groups are based on the player’s year of birth. If you are unsure which group to choose, contact the club before registering.
-
Grading is the process used to assess players' skills and abilities to assist with team placements.
Our grading committee considers a range of factors, including individual skills, nominated playing positions, the abilities of other players and overall team balance.
The aim is to place players in teams that provide an appropriate level of competition and opportunities for development.
-
Grading attendance is required for players from U10s through to Inters. Dates and times will be announced before the season. Contact the Registrar if you cannot attend or are registering late, and read the BDNC Grading Policy for the process.
-
We understand that playing with friends is important to many children.
However, for graded competitions, team placements are determined through the club's grading process rather than friendship requests.
This helps us create teams that are balanced and suited to players' demonstrated abilities.
-
Families are welcome to raise relevant information with the club, but requests for a particular coach or team cannot be guaranteed.
Team placements and coaching allocations are determined by the club in accordance with its policies and available resources.
-
Requests to play outside a player's usual age group are considered in accordance with the club's policies and applicable competition rules.
Approval is not automatic, and each request is assessed based on the relevant circumstances.
-
If you have a question about your child’s placement, please contact the committee so we can explain the process and the options available under the BDNC Grading Policy.
TRAINING & GAME DAYS
-
BDNC competes in the Maitland District Netball Association competition.
Games are played at Maitland Park Netball Courts, Maitland.
-
Competition games are generally played on Saturdays.
However, the 2027 season includes two double-header weekends, meaning teams will play on both Saturday and Sunday.
Please refer to the MDNA 2027 Season Calendar for the full schedule.
-
Due to the 2027 Netball World Cup, the competition season will begin and finish earlier than usual.
The competition will still have the same number of rounds, with two double-header weekends included in the calendar.
-
All BDNC teams train at Branxton Netball Courts, Miller Park, Branxton.
-
Training days and times are determined once teams and coaches have been finalised.
Coaches will communicate training arrangements to their teams before training begins.
-
Training and competition games may be cancelled or postponed due to wet weather or unsafe court conditions.
Any confirmed changes will be communicated through the club's official communication channels.
Please do not assume training or games are cancelled unless an official announcement has been made.
-
MDNA publishes the competition draw. Check the current draw for your team’s game time and court, and follow team updates in Spond. See our training and game information and MDNA Calendar, or contact the club if you need help finding it.
UNIFORMS & EQUIPMENT
-
Players need an approved BDNC playing dress, black shorts and suitable socks and footwear. See our Uniforms page for current requirements and ordering updates. Contact the club if you are unsure what to arrange.
-
Yes. BDNC is introducing a new playing dress for 2027, with a three-year transition period. Sizing, ordering and collection information will be shared by the club. Please wait for club instructions before placing an order. Visit the Uniforms page for updates.
-
Players do not need to bring a netball to training or games. Having a ball at home can help with practice, but it is optional.
-
Jewellery requirements are governed by netball rules and competition regulations.
Players must ensure they comply with these requirements before taking the court.
Pierced ears cannot simply be covered with tape to allow a player to participate. They must be removed.
PARENTS, VOLUNTEERS & CLUB COMMUNICATION
-
Yes. As a community sporting club, BDNC relies on the support of our families and volunteers.
Throughout the season, teams may be required to assist with scoring, timekeeping, canteen duty and other club responsibilities.
Team Managers will help coordinate these duties.
-
In 2027, BDNC will use Spond for team and club communication.
Coaches and Team Managers will provide families with information about joining their relevant team group.
Important club announcements will also be shared through our website and Facebook page.
