age groups
There is a place to start, develop or return to netball at BDNC. Find your playing group below, then follow the link for registration and team information.
Age groups are generally based on the age a player turns during the calendar year. Ask the club if you are unsure which category applies.
NetSetGO: 5–9 years
A fun introduction for our youngest players.
Beginners learn passing, catching, footwork and teamwork through activities and games. The focus is on confidence, friendships and having a go.
Juniors: 10–12 years
Developing skills and enjoying team netball.
Players build their skills, learn positions and gain game experience. This age group participates in club grading before teams are formed.
Inters: 13–14 years
Building game awareness and teamwork.
Players develop positional skills, decision-making and confidence through competitive team netball. Inters participate in club grading.
Cadets: 15–17 years
Developing, competing and staying connected.
Cadet players can submit a team or join as individuals. Team placements are subject to available positions and club policies.
Seniors: 18 years and over
Netball for experienced and returning players.
Submit a team or enquire as an individual. Senior netball offers a way to stay active, enjoy competition and connect with the club.
Representative pathways
Players interested in taking their netball further can explore representative opportunities through Maitland District Netball Association.
Eligibility, trial dates and selection requirements are set by the relevant association. Follow official announcements or ask BDNC where to find the current information.
